I guess I will have to use a backport of rdiff-backup in this case, to
temporarily keep accessing my backup data. Long-term, using an obsolete
development snapshot of backup software is not a credible solution.
I realize that Debian maintenance is volunteer-driven and somewhat
decentralized,
