Package: synaptic
Version: 0.62
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

Synaptic currently enables users to install a specific version of a
package, but the problem is that these packages remain at a fixed
version number (no updates).
I think that some users would like to be able to force to a branch
(experimental for instance, if you want to beta-test a specific
package) instead of a version.
I know that it is possible to do this using /etc/apt/preferences, but
a graphical interface would be great (I guess the GUI "just" has to
modify the /etc/apt/preferences file, no changes needed on apt).

Thanks.
