Package: apticron Version: 1.1.21 Severity: minor The use of '/sbin/ip -f inet6 addr show scope global' in line 86 yielded the same error as in bug #463585 in version 1.1.20. So I upgraded to 1.1.21, but it is still not fixed. As bug #463585 is archived, i send this new bug report.
I suggest adding a ' 2> /dev/null' as for the IPv4 case above. The bug still exists in version 1.1.25 (the code moved to line 90). It is rather annoying to get a mail with the error message 'RTNETLINK answers: Address family not supported by protocol Dump terminated' every day, yet apticron works apart from that. Please fix this. I use a virtual private server without IPv6, if that is of any importance.
