I'm able to configure the server fine with synclient. So it appears to
just be gsynaptics that is not working.

I think all this comes from gsynaptics not being adapted to new X.org.
There are already wontfix bugs #519676 and #523396 and I'll probably
merge this one with them.
The problem is that gsynaptics is not longer developed and will never
