This appears on my system after upgrading to KDE 4. The OpenVPN plug in in knetworkmanager does not work anymore.
The upgrade proces did not copy my openvpn setting to kde4. After manually entering the settings if find that certain essential settings are not saved while others are. The result is I can not connect to the office with KDE 4. Starting a gnome session the gnome network manager still works.
