Package: gnome-power-manager Version: 2.24.4-2 Severity: important
Hello I used to be able to set the cpu governor (ondemand) at gnome startup by editing relevant keys in for g-p-m in gconf-editor. Since a while, this doesn't work anymore and cpu governor is always set at "performance" irrespective of gconf policy. The only workaround I was able to implement is to hardcode the cpu governor setting in /etc/sysfs.conf. Like this: devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor = ondemand devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/scaling_governor = ondemand This sets the governor to what I want (ondemand) but still g-p-m is unable to change it to anthing else at gnome startup. The cpufreq applet works fine in the sense that I can change by hand to whatever I need. Still g-p-m does not behave like expected since it appears unable to set governor at gnome startup. As a side note, my laptop tends to overheat and shutdown when stressed, so "powersave" is a life-saver.
