Thanks for the report Petr. Simply copying the hints file from linux to
another name isn't going to help.
It does help. The sed command is really sufficient.
It would help if you could provide more details on the failure to build.
The best is if you can provide a full dump of the build

May be it would be better to name the hint file glibc.pm
and share it between linux, GNU/kFreeBSD and hurd.
Okay, for now they'll both use the linux hints file, but if you ever need
different configuration parameters than linux, let us know and we can create
a separate hints file.

the current version fails to build on GNU/kFreeBSD.
It needs a hint file, please create one, i.e. by this command:
sed s/::linux/::gnukfreebsd/
