Hi libextractor maintainers, I am trying to solve a problem with part of the fossology package that uses libextractor and I'm hoping you can help. The bug is
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=531864 Frank Lichtenheld suggested possibly adding '-Wl,-rpath /usr/lib/libextractor/' to the compile flags to fix it. I tried that, but then lintian complains 'binary-or-shlib-defines-rpath' There is a good explanation of the issue at http://wiki.debian.org/RpathIssue This requirement is not yet in Debian policy, but it's being discussed at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=555982 It looks like libextractor itself sets rpath in order to find these plugins (which is permitted under the proposed policy change). Are these plugins intended for public use? If so how can I ensure they will be found at runtime?
