as first argument to diskiograph instead of a device (dunno how that
happend, maybe some older config setting?).

there is a bug report in Ubuntu which is somewhat similar to your
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/conky/+bug/405188).
Could you perhaps attach your .conkyrc? Its your crash consistent, and
if so, how do you trigger it?
Could you by any chance obtain a backtrace
