Package: synaptic Version: 0.62.7+b1 Severity: normal I have the same problem here and it happens when I select the packages "e00compr" or "byobu" for instance (there are many other packages triggering the bug though). I tried to do a backtrace in gdb even though there's no debug package for synaptic. Here it is:
