Right, usblp must not be loaded for cups to work. cups installs a blacklist file for this (/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-cups.conf). Did you reboot after the upgrade? If not, could you try rmmod usblp as root, and then restart cups with /etc/init.d/cups restart as root? Can you please check
