Package: libapache2-mod-geoip Version: 1.1.8-2
The shipped mod_geoip version (1.1.8) dates back to 27-Apr-2006; it is very outdated. See http://geolite.maxmind.com/download/geoip/api/mod_geoip2/ The current version is already 1.5 years old as well; I would like to see an update.
And I would like to offer my help with it. I am extensively using mod_geoip myself, and I ran into the outdatedness when packaging MirrorBrain for Debian/Ubuntu. Since the old module is lacking features, I currently have to provide my own build: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Apache:/MirrorBrain/Debian_5.0/
