Package: curl
Version: 7.19.7-1
Severity: wishlist

piper:/etc/apache2/sites-enabled% curl http://[::1]
                  #10051
curl: (3) [globbing] illegal character in range specification at pos 9

Maybe it would make sense to add smarts to curl such that it does
not try to emulate a shell when I am trying to access a HTTP
resource via IPv6 address?

--globoff is a workaround, but that should not be needed. Globbing
is a shell job.
