Sorry for the very late response. I'm now running the 3.5.2 amd64 kernel like you asked, to see if the light flickers. Sadly, it still does flicker. Also, the ath5k driver runs at 54 Mb/s (just saying in case it matters) as opposed to the 1 Mb/s that I had written in that old report back with
