files mode 0644, so while the permissions may have been fixed in
4.01+dfsg-4 the bug re-appeared in the version in squeeze. so this bug
affects new squeeze installations and

I noticed that after a kernel install or upgrade (the regular, debian
ones), extlinux script wasn't run. Looking at the
/etc/kernel/*.d/zz-extlinux, it's obvious: the scripts aren't
executables. As they're run through run-parts
