The xerox_mfp backend works with additional Samsung devices, this makes Samsung's own smfp drivers superfluous. That's a good thing because the smfp drivers as distributed by Samsung are really old and have unmet dependencies (old libraries). Please add this usb ID 04e8:342c Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd to the xerox_mfp.conf for a Samsung SCX 4824 According to web sources, further Samsung MFPs are supported, here is a report concerning the SCX 4825: http://www.simplylinux.ch/samsung-scx-4825fn-und-kubuntu-lucid-10-04 Obviously that one needs the line "usb 0x04e8 0x343c" added to the config file.
