live-build and live-helper version is 2.0.5-1 from testing, compiled
from debian testing source on a Ubuntu 10.10 and running on Ubuntu.

My auto/config looks like this:

#!/bin/sh
lb config noauto \
 --architecture i386 \
 -b usb-hdd \
 --cache true \
 --debian-installer live \
 --debian-installer-distribution squeeze \
 -d squeeze \
 --hostname debian \
 -k 686 \
 --memtest memtest86+ \
 --mirror-bootstrap http://ftp.tw.debian.org/debian/ \
 --mirror-chroot http://ftp.tw.debian.org/debian/ \
 --mode debian \
 -p lxde \
 --use-fakeroot false \
 --security true \
 --username debian \

Is anything missing there?

Cheers
Arne
