Package: xscreensaver
Version: 5.11-1+b1
Severity: normal

I think I'm seeing the same thing on my Dell Latitude D520 laptop.
Strangely this doesn't happen on any of my other machines (one a
laptop, one not) that run pretty much the same packages and versions.

It's as if the display stays blanked, like in a power saving mode, but
the LCD backlight is still on. The mouse cursor is sometimes visible
and confined to the area where the unlock dialog box would be, but the
dialog is invisible. I can still enter my password and the screen
unlocks, but the screen remains black except for the mouse cursor,
which changes depending on what's underneath it. Once I was able to
make the screen return to normal by switching to a text console and
killing xscreensaver. This only seems to happen if I leave the
computer for a while; just locking the screen manually and unlocking
in the next few minutes is fine.

I haven't been able to figure out how to consistently reproduce this
yet, or if this is due to a recent change in xscreensaver or some
other package. Will try to debug further and update this report.
