Package: pdns-backend-sqlite3 Version: 2.9.22-8 Severity: normal The bug is already fixed on upstream (since 2 years) but happens for me with the current pdns-backend-sqlite3:
I'm running a master nameserver and a slave which get's updated by axfr. I have a "<script>alert('xss')</script>" TXT-Record (for a POC of triggering XSS on website) and got this in the slaves log file: May 4 13:03:22 deimos pdns[6192]: Communicator thread died because of error: Unable to compile SQLite statement : near "test": syntax error Seems the content of the record does not get escaped properly. Steps to reproduce: - Given you have a master and a slave nameserver. - Add a record with a ' (for example a TXT record) on the master nameserver. - Start a zone transfer See also my ticket on upstream: http://wiki.powerdns.com/trac/ticket/358 -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.33.7-vs2.3.0.36.30.4-netcup (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages pdns-backend-sqlite3 depends on: ii libc6 2.11.2-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libgcc1 1:4.4.5-8 GCC support library ii libsqlite3-0 3.7.3-1 SQLite 3 shared library ii libstdc++6 4.4.5-8 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii pdns-server 2.9.22-8 extremely powerful and versatile n ii sqlite3 3.7.3-1 A command line interface for SQLit ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime pdns-backend-sqlite3 recommends no packages. pdns-backend-sqlite3 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
