I talked to upstream. systemd indeed does not support options via
systemd-modules-load.
The rationale is, that module options should be configure in /etc/modprobe.d
and
/etc/modules resp. /etc/module-load.d/ only contains a list of modules to
load.

Could you try using acerhdf alone and see if the module is loaded then?
