Hi,

gtk3 applications (currently gucharmap and gnome-terminal) have a resize
grip in the lower right corner. Clicking this makes the application
freeze, while using a window manager such as xmonad. This has happened
to at least one other person as well:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2011-March/052630.html
http://lists-archives.org/gtk/12375-gtk3-resize-grip-freezes-the-window-manager.html
(using twm and icewm)

I suspect that gtk is expecting some functionality from the window
manager that has only been tested with “common” onces such as metacity
(where the grip indeed works) and mutter, and it does not fail
gracefully with others.

Ideally, if other window managers do not work with the grip, it should
not be displayed then.

Greetings,
Joachim
