I got the same issue with Iceweasel!
After upgrading libc6 from v. 2.13-7 to 2.13-8 Iceweasel 5.0 often crashes
and when run from a command line shows the following error:
firefox-bin: res_query.c:251: __libc_res_nquery: Assertion `hp != hp2'
failed. Aborting.

I am able to reproduce this over and over with firefox and liferea.

Today I upgraded both chromium (the web browser) and libc6. I've seen
cases when I open a new tab and quickly type in a site name where the
browser crashes and upon reopening it and restoring my tabs, it crashes
again. Repeat several times
