I am also seeing a similar issue on 5.9-1 on ubuntu, on ARM. resolving the
reboot loop remotely was fun :-). it seems similar to Bug#32547
i get:
Sep 15 14:42:48 beagleboard watchdog[2476]: no response from ping (target:
192.168.4.1)
but, a normal ping works fine

I updated watchdog from version 5.6-4 to version 5.9-1.
In the configuration, I ping the IP address 127.0.0.1 and the IP address of
interface eth0.
With version 5.6-4 I had no problem but with version 5.9-1 I have the following
