Hmmm, maybe this is not a bug. I have grown a habit of opening invalid bugs recently... :-) Sorry! The default locale at the GDM login screen was set to ANSI. Selecting English resolves this problem, and the setting is saved for future logins. So the only question is why ANSI is selected by defau
