The issue is resolved. It appeared that no GTK+ theme was installed
causing this issue. After installation of some of the gnome 3 theme
packages and selecting a theme via the advanced settings editor (the
Adwaita theme) the wi

I have made a screenshot to show the "problem". It is attached.
The screenshot shows in the rightmost corner (the shell icon) the
application switcher and next to it the desktop switcher with 4
desktops. 2 desktops are in use. on the leftmost desktop

Dear Maintainer,
An upgrade to the current version of gnome-panel made the workspace switcher
applet a single gray colour. The workspaces blend out in the panel background
(which I have set to a light grey colour). I have tried a different
