so it will not work.

Indeed, on my j2 machine all is well. aptitude log shows
[REMOVE, NOT USED] libmailutils2:i386
[INSTALL, DEPENDENCIES] libmailutils4:i386
[INSTALL, DEPENDENCIES] mailutils-common:i386
So I will check out what is wrong on my other machines after I get back
from town...
