Hello Wouter,

wich desktop do you use?
Did this happen if you use any other dekstop? Can you move your old
$HOME environtment (User Dir) temporaly beside?
What happen if you start from a clean profile? Are there any plugins in
your icedove installation? Do you any unusual thing on this maschine?

Your problems sounds like this is not realy a icedove problem, this
seems to be mor a problem beside your desktop configuration.
