Package: cups-browsed Version: 1.0.28-1 Severity: important The cups-browsed package seems to be missing a startup script. The changelog mentions an upstart script, but not even this is included in the package. Running "cups-browsed" yields a process, but not printer queues show up, despite a local cups server running and broadcasting. cups-browsed --debug does show it recognizing some of the expected printers, however not those by the cups 1.5.3 server, until I also installed avahi there.
It really needs to be documented how to get printer browsing to work with Cups 1.6 -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages cups-browsed depends on: ii cups 1.6.1-2 ii libavahi-client3 0.6.31-1 ii libavahi-common3 0.6.31-1 ii libc6 2.16-0experimental1 ii libcups2 1.6.1-2 cups-browsed recommends no packages. cups-browsed suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
