Since commit e34cfbd5 ("nouveau: Factor out common code to NVHasKMS()"), the DDX fails to load the kernel module if it had not been loaded previously, leaving the user with the vesa driver or X failing, depending on their xorg.conf. I'm afraid this is going to be a rather big problem for us, since the nvidia-kernel-common package in squeeze, wheezy and sid installs a file in /etc/modprobe.d that blacklists the nouveau kernel module. While the nvidia-kernel-common version in experimental does not do this anymore[1], users who have removed but not purged nvidia-kernel-common, or haven't upgraded to the version in experimental yet, are going to have a rather unpleasant experience. :/ 1. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=684774 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
