Just checked with my laptop with has i386 arch.
It has the same versions for:
*gvfs*, *polkit*, *policykit*, *udisks* packages
and works fine.

works again like expected.

Since last update (2013-07-11) from version 1.12.3-4 up to version 1.16.3-1
gvfs fails to mount certain devices (cdrom, sd-cards, sony prs-t2 reader, etc.)
under xfce.
Only automount of usb-sticks works.
