I would HIGHLY appreciate to see this patch in unstable. Actually, I
don't even really care about `testing' and `stable', since most of my
machines run a constantly updates `unstable' distribution.
Actually, I don't even see a reason why this patch wasn't put into
unstable about two years

this bug seems to affect a lot of people and seems to be a good
candidate for the next Jessie pointrelease. Unfortunately sid is still
affected, and it is often requested to have this fixed in sid first
before a spu is submitted. The window for that likely closes within two
weeks.
