It has been two years without any development activity on this project, upstream is unresponsive on irc channels or to emails. So, I think it's safe to assume this project is dead. I'm not using this software anymore and I'm unable to even build it due to some FTBFS bugs reported related with Cython. It has a low popcon and there are not package in the archive depending on it so I think it's a safe bet to remove it.
