two more cents - making `autofs' a `remote_fs' leads to a dependency
complication. `rsyslog' provides `syslog' and depends on `remote_fs', while
`autofs' depends on `syslog'. It is also unclear if there are any other
services which may require higher priority.# Should-Start: $all

I did not like adding autofs either, although it is explainable - the file
systems may be local, remote or auto.
Meanwhile I continued messing with init scripts, a common approach for
non-vital daemons is to set

Thus update-rc.d puts it to the end of the
