Package: ghc-mod Version: 4.1.2-2 Severity: important Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer,
When used with Emacs, ghc-mod 4.1.2-2 will, unlike versions < 4, consume hundreds of MB of memory *per open file* in many cases. For many, this will be a serious regression from earlier versions, making ghc-mod's Emacs integration practically useless. The problem is known upstream [1], and seems to be (at least partly) rectified in ghc-mod 5.x. The latter is not packaged in Debian, and does introduce a few new dependencies that are also not packaged in Debian. Since Emacs integration is a (the?) major feature of ghc-mod, should perhaps ghc-mod be downgraded to 3.x, or upgraded to 5.x, before Jessie?
