The ReText documentation [1] mentions that parameters for Markdown extensions can be specified in brackets in markdown-extensions.txt file. That was working fine with first versions of Markups, but later one of upstream commits (namely [2]) broke it. The fix is trivial [3], released upstream as 0.5.2 and covered by test suite.
