Daniel Case already volunteered to take over the maintenance of
nagios-nrpe-server.
I can also add my name to that list.
We are several sysadmins out there who use this feature behind firewalls or
on private networks for monitoring and you are stopping our show here.

You can't protect users from idiocy, if they don't read it's their fault. Why
not remove the command from the nrpe config but allow users who know about it
and use it to enable it?
