For the record: I have moved away ~/.kde and the problem disappeared. I guess some old state in there caused the problem. Obviously KDE5 does not make much use of it anymore as I lost only some settings...

I think this problem will go away as soon as some packages in unstable migrate to testing (which should be rather soon). I also think this is fixed in unstable with a proper dependency, but I don't remember which package took this functionality :-/ Sorry for the inconvenience! -- Lisandro
