Package: gnome-shell Version: 3.14.4-1~deb8u1 Severity: important I feel the shutdown confirmation procedure is a bit aggressive, in other words, it may lead to unintended shutdown
First of all, the shutdown control is right beside the screen lock control and somebody going to click the screen lock may erroneously click the shutdown button and walk away from their computer thinking it is just going to lock In fact, rather than locking, there is a delay of 1 or 2 seconds and then the shutdown confirmation window appears. Because the window doesn't appear for a couple of seconds, somebody who is in a hurry may have already started walking away thinking they locked the screen The shutdown window has a 60 second timer and then it automatically shuts down without further confirmation from the user. It may be preferable not to have the timer and require an explicit click to confirm. As a workaround, it is possible to change the permissions so only root can shutdown and everybody else must use sudo -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
