Package: icedove
Version: 31.8.0-1~deb8u1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
   * What led up to the situation?
     Upgrade of cryptography standard of my hoster's mail server from SSL 3.0
to TLS 1.2. Before
     implementation of TLS 1.2 I used the workaround of setting the
security.tls.version.min
     to 0 in the registry. Strangely, the config had to be altered every time
on startup.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
     Proposed workaround of Bugzilla Bug 1184488 was not effective:
     security.ssl3.dhe_dss_aes_128_sha;false
     security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_128_sha;false
     security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_256_sha;false
     security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_des_ede3_sha;false
   * What was the outcome of this action?
     Issue still exists, error console still reports two errors when trying to
connect:
     1) 'ssl_error_bad_cert_domain' - certificate appears to be valid only for
my hoster.
     mail.example.at:143 uses an invalid security certificate. Certificate only
     valid for *.hoststar.at, hoststar.at
     2) 'ssl_error_weak_server_ephemeral_dh_key' - according to ssllabs.com,
the mailserver
     provides 1024 bit DH keys. Two tests were performed in the commandline,
both returning  errors:
     $ openssl s_client -connect mail.jazzco.at:143 -cipher "EDH" | grep
"Server Temp Key"
     $ openssl s_client -connect mail.jazzco.at:143 -cipher "ECDHE"
   * Please anonymize relevant parts of this bugreport. Is this a proper bug or
just a safety issue
     concerning my hoster?
     Cheers!
