Package: packagekit Version: 1.0.8-1 Severity: normal Tags: d-i Dear maintainer,
There is a fresh install (a few weeks ago) of stretch on my laptop. I just found out that the system loads all new packages from testing instantly when there is a network available. It was not easy to find out who is silently doing this, but finally: With ps -axf: 97 ? Ssl 0:07 /usr/lib/packagekit/packageditd 1536 ? S 0:00 \_ /usr/lib/apt/methods/http I often use my mobile phone as a hotspot, and for the laptop this is of course just another WLAN. Please give some information on how to stop this behaviour. There is nothing about this at the freedesk-top-website, neither in debian-wiki. On the website gnome-packagekit is a file in /etc/sysconfig/packagekit-background mentioned, but this file does not exist here. But even if it would exist, obviously nobody knows what exactly it could contain.... Apart from my hotspot-problem: I don't think automatic download of pakets should be the default in testing. But please provide at least some information and documentation about it. Thank you for your work!
