Hi,

It seems that clear_console X when it's running as non-root.

I can reproduce this with the following usecase:

Start X (as regular user) on the tty2
Switch to tty1
Call clear_console
The vt is switched back to tty2, but all I/O are broken and sometimes X
crashes.
