Package: libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0
Version: 2.32.3-1.2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

This is a version interaction between several packages, so I'm sorry if
libgdk isn't really where it belongs. I labelled it important because
the interaction renders many other packages unusable, but the bug is
probably fairly rare in the wild.

After an unknown set of upgrades, opening any menu in gnumeric would
crash with:
Gdk-ERROR **: BadLength (poly request too large or internal Xlib length erro

gdb backtrace showed that the there was a call into libgdk which was then
followed by a call into libxi (sorry, I did not save this). At the time I
had these versions of libgdk and libxi:

   ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0:i386 2.32.3-1.2
   ii libxi6 2:1.3-4

I upgraded libxi to

   ii libxi6:i386 2:1.7.6-1

That fixed it. I don't know if libgdk is actually the underlying
incompatibility or if libgtk is (libgtk is what ultimately depends on
libxi6, and doesn't seem to state a version number).

Hope this is useful,
- Greg
