Hi,
A '* * * * * fetchmail' crontab seems like a really bad idea to me
(poor sever :-| ).
Bug feels like a race condition.
In this case, the retrieval of log log with systemctl/journal
is not synchroneous and you are likely simply
recieving next/previous run's log.

I've added a cronjob that runs as my user every minute (fetchmail).
Occasionally, the job is reported as failed with the following email:
Subject: [laptop] job cron-wavexx-wavexx-0 failed
