Package: src:python-kafka Version: 0.9.5-2 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer,
I would like to use python-kafka using features released in 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 (support for coordinated consumer groups, SSL, kafka 0.10 features). Please consider updating the python-kafka package to something more recent than the currently packaged 0.9.5 upstream release. I tried to look at the git repository to do the update, but I have to say that the pkg-openstack paraphernalia confused me, so I'm sorry for not providing patches. Upstream has deprecated lots of legacy APIs, but as far as I can tell they have not been removed yet, so the transition for reverse-dependencies should be smooth.
