Package: anacron Version: 2.3-23 Severity: important Installing the anacron package does not install /etc/cron.d/anacron resulting in anacron only running at boot.
>From what I can see in the source package, debian/cron.d is present, but I think it needs to be named anacron.cron.d for it to be installed by dh_installcron() I noticed that LogWatch would run when I rebooted my Jessie desktop machine, but never otherwise (the machine hardly ever gets rebooted). Manually creating /etc/cron.d/anacron by copying debian/cron.d results in the expected behaviour of running the cron.daily scripts every day. -Kevin -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.6 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages anacron depends on: ii debianutils 4.4+b1 ii init-system-helpers 1.22 ii libc6 2.19-18+deb8u6 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian13+nmu1 Versions of packages anacron recommends: ii cron [cron-daemon] 3.0pl1-127+deb8u1 ii rsyslog [system-log-daemon] 8.4.2-1+deb8u2 Versions of packages anacron suggests: ii exim4-daemon-light [mail-transport-agent] 4.84.2-2+deb8u1 ii powermgmt-base 1.31+nmu1 -- no debconf information
