The alarm-clock-applet on my system came from the Stretch
repositories. When I downloaded the tar.gz package with the same
version number and attempted to install it, "./configure" stopped with
the report that gstreamer-1.0 was missing. When I ran "apt-get-install
gstreamer-1.0", files beginning with "qt" and "gir" came in. Sound was
not restored.
