Package: ntp Version: 1:4.2.8p9+dfsg-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I do: ntpdc ntpdc> peers and ntpdc times out trying to talk to the server on localhost. Installing the ntp version from Jessie without changing /etc/ntp.conf fixes the problem. thus: apt-get install -t jessie ntp/jessie ntpq works with both versions. ntpdc no longer quits on control-D either. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: arm64 (aarch64) Kernel: Linux 3.10.101-0-pine64-longsleep (SMP w/4 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages ntp depends on: ii adduser 3.115 ii dpkg 1.18.15 ii libc6 2.24-8 ii libcap2 1:2.25-1 ii libedit2 3.1-20160903-2 ii libopts25 1:5.18.12-3 ii libssl1.1 1.1.0c-2 ii lsb-base 9.20161125 ii netbase 5.3 Versions of packages ntp recommends: pn perl:any <none> Versions of packages ntp suggests: pn ntp-doc <none> -- Configuration Files: /etc/ntp.conf changed: driftfile /var/lib/ntp/ntp.drift statistics loopstats peerstats clockstats filegen loopstats file loopstats type day enable filegen peerstats file peerstats type day enable filegen clockstats file clockstats type day enable pool pool.ntp.csiro.au restrict -4 default kod notrap nomodify nopeer noquery limited restrict -6 default kod notrap nomodify nopeer noquery limited restrict 127.0.0.1 restrict ::1 restrict source notrap nomodify noquery -- no debconf information
