Good if it is already fixen in Debian. For Univention Corporate Server 4.2
we're stuck with Debian-Jessied mysql-5.5, that's why I posted the report.
I think it's okay to not prepare an updated package for Jessie, but you could
apply the fix to the next security upload.

We fixed this in src:mysql-5.6 or src:mysql-5.7 (I forget when exactly).
IIRC, my conclusion for the reason for the failures was the same.
I don't think an update to jessie is justified, do you?
For sid, it's already fixed in src:mysql-5.7 then.
