Yes, it is much better so.
But also you could fix the test in
/usr/share/doc/xrootconsole/examples/test
Those are commented out, so you need to look again. There is a color test
without --ansi-color.

Console --ansi-colour can't be opened! Error: No such file or directory
Because of that I was thinking that option is just for making codes
