Package: open-vm-tools-desktop
Version: 2:10.1.5-5055683-4
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

Copied files will end up in the ~/.cache/vmware folder, and will remain there
forever.

I am aware that there are inherent problems to figure out which ones are still
required,
but there could be some events where the content could (and IMHO should) be
deleted.
*) On shutdown or startup (would need to iterate through all users)
*) local X11-logon of a user
*) local X11-logoff of a user
*) start/stop of the vmware-user daemon

On any of these events it would be safe to delete the drag-and-drop cache,
I would say deleting the cache aftert stopping the user daemon would be best,
that way the cache gets removed if the package gets uninstalled as well
